Conflict Creative Writing

  As George woke up from his deep, deep sleep, he saw his wife staring at him, very frustrated. She started to yell at him saying "You know what, you need to clean our room George. GEORGE! Listen to me, this place is a mess." "I know" George replied," but I'm tired, and I really don't want to do this." His room looked like a dump truck had excreted its possessions onto his floor. He had about forty empty Pepsi cans on the floor, a bag of half eaten Doritos cool ranch chips, half eaten, starting to grow mold. His room was grosser than a Hillbilly who hasn't bathed in two weeks. He got up, stepping on a bowl of rice from last night's dinner, and he went downstairs and decided to lay on the couch and eat a bowl of Luck Charms cereal. His wife got mad at him and  to pull him off the couch. Upon doing so she heard a crick in her back, but still persevered to get him up to his room. "I'm not leaving until this place picked up! you hear me!? Uh-Huh, I though so! Now Get STARTED," She screamed.  
       She left, and he was lying on his bed. He was frustrated and took a nap, even though he had just gotten up. A few hours later, he found his wife yelling at him again. She kept on saying "CLEAN YOUR ROOM!". George just ignored her an went back to sleep.
        When George woke up, he was tired of his wife constantly yelling at him to clean his room. Slowly, but surely, hie picked up each of the empty Pepsi cans, and threw them into the garbage. His wife came back again, but she was in a look of awe, because he was actually cleaning his room. 
       She left, knowing things would actually get done.

Monsieur George Rombuskuzy McLuaderdale, Un Histoire d'Une Journée Oublieux (A story of a forgetful day!)

                George Rombuskuzy McLauderdale found himself walking to work, LATE!!!!!.George works for McDonalds Canada as the secretary to the President of the company.  He had gotten up late because he forgot to set his alarm clock. His 'Golden Arches' alarm clock   has a little clock in the middle of it with two knobs on the side to set the alarm, and it's shaped like the McD's symbol, the golden M.. The alarm sounds like the Ba da ba ba ba; I'm lovin it! As George was arriving to the Mcdonalds headquarters in Toronto, he forgot to bring his house keys with him, but as he was already late, he could not go back, so he called his wife, Sandra-Louise, who works as  the secretary to the president of Burger King. These jobs conflicted with their realtionship a lot, because Sandra-Louise could lose her job, and vice-versa with George.  She said there is a spare key at their neighbours, and they be home after four to put it in their mailbox.
          While George was talking on his phone, he walked into the office building, five minutes late. All of his co-workers were giving him satanic stares, like they've all been possessed by the devil. Eventually he sat down, and grabbed a bottle of water out of the mini stainless steel fridge underneath his desk. he got a phone call, and from that point on, everything changed.
          He walked into the President's office immeadiatly after the phone call. He stood there, looking like a ghost, and said, "Mr. President. I have very sad news. In Windsor, two of our biggest francises are on fire and four of our employees are dead. They say that the fire was caused by someone misusing the deep frier." The President jumped, and sat down in his yellow chair, looking exteremely frustrated. "You know the rules George. Do not tell me about these things until it is actually solved!, Now, go back to your desk.... No, better yet, get me a coffee..... now!" "Yes, Sir!" George frantically said, and ran to the staff room to get hi his favourite, a black columbian coffee, with whipped cream, and espresso extract.
  As George was bringing the coffee to the President, he forgot to sign off of his PC. All of a sudden, a random guy sat in his desk and started to use it. George was terrified!!! He immediatly called security, and they came and charged him wih copyright, and abending the rules of Freedom of Privacy. He got 2 years in prison. Anyways, he sat down in his desk and looked for the files that he had created the night before. They were not there!!!!! George screamed like a little baby, and called the database. They had no records of the files. George gave up and decided it was they end of the day, even though i was only 10 o'clock in the morning!
 From that day forward, he was not late, he always brought his house keys, told his boss things only when they were solved, and always sings off of his computer when he's not using it.

My Bedroom!!!

When you walk down the hallway, you hear the creeking ghoulishness of the hardwood floor underneath the carpet. At the very end of the hallway, there is a dark brown door with a black grain that runs diagonally downwards towards the floor. When you step into my room, you have to make an immediate left becuase of a wall that is the color of cream gone bad. The walls texture is that of stucco. As you look into my room, you will see a trail of laundry. On your left there are three boxes stacked neatly on top of each other. You look down and the hardwood is a mixture of browns and blacks to give the illusion of a forest trail. On the wall there is a painting with a cartoon conductor with a giant eighth note in front of the conductor. As you step forward into my room, there is a light beige bed with a black grain to it. It feels like a rustic, woody, earthy bed. It is the mst comfortale thing ever, as it feels like a cloud lilting on a rainbow. On your left there is a dresser with a medium brown hex color to it, and it has the same black grain as the be. One of the six drawers don't close as it got damaged when we moved into the house last may. The room, you clould say it tastes like fresh spring air with evergreen and maple swirling around like a soft serve ice cream cone. You notice the slight scent of chocolate, as there is a giant chocolate stash in my closet, and the musty smell of cologne. My closet is dark. on the right panel, the way the wood's grain goes makes it look like a humans face, and I have to admit, it is kind of creepy. It feels like something, or someone is stalking you. On the back wall of my room, there is a white armorware that is messy in the inside. It is full of almanacs and books of all sort. On the top is my dolphin statue collection (I have about 50 dolphins in that collection.....). Right next to the armorware on the left hand side by my bed is a table that I made in grade 7 woods. It is light brown, and is full of stuff. Literally. Stuff. It looks like the assiniboine rivers banks along the river walkway. This is what my room looks like.

MSND Blog no.3

The characters that I am going to be 'casting...' are Puck, Titania, and Helena.

Puck

Puck, a very mischeivious fairy, who put the magical flower on Lysander instead of Demetrius, I feel would be represented by best is Gilbert Gottfried. The reason why I chose Gilbert Gottfried is because he is very comedic and plays many characters that are very mischievous. For example, in 'Fairly Odd Parents', Gottfried plays Dr. Wendel, an evil dentist whose goal is to destroy Timmy Turners,(Timmy is the Main character of The Show), teeth. He goes to clubs and showhouses and does a standup comedy acts. Gottfried also talks in a very annoying voice, one that sounds like a blender and a cat's meow going together. In act two, scene one, line 53, it states 'Then slip I from her and down topples she' which is basically saying, if she sits on a chair, before she is compleatly in the chair, I will pull it away from her and make her fall on the floor. hee! hee! hee!

Gottfried's personality is perfect for this as he is very mischievious, humourus and has a childlike personae.

Titania

Titania is the queen of the Fairies, and is very perseverant. The actress that I would feel would be played best by is Angelina Jolie. She is very queen like and also is very perseverant just like Mrs. Jolie here. Mrs. Jolie has starred in many movies including: Gia, Sharks Tale (voice), and Cyborg II, just to name a few. She is very caring, just like Titania, about her kids. Titania would not give up the Changeling for love or anything else, just like Angelina would not give up her kids.

Helena

Helena is one of the lover's that is not loved by any of the other lovers. The actor that I would choose to play Helena is Anne Hathaway. The reason why I chose Anne Hathaway is because she is a very good, actor, capable of playing many characters. She also has a calm, but somewhat stubborn personality, and she does not let anyone get in her way, just like Helena. anne Hathaway starred in the amazing 2013 film 'Les Miserables' and it was one of the best films I've ever seen.

 

 

 

 

 



MSND Blog Entry no. 2

I choose this cover for my most preferred cover because it represents the main plot of the book A Midsummer Night's Dream because it shows Puck flying above one of the female lovers and the main plot is Oberon, King of The Fairies wants to apply the magic flowers nectar onto the lovers eyes, so he can make the lovers stop fighting, as Puck has messed up the plot as he put the flower's nectar on the eyes Demetrius instead of Lysander, as he only said to find a boy dressed in Athenian clothing. As the plot thickens, Hermia is left alone in the forest as Lysander has now fallen in love with Helena, and has run into the forest to try and find her. But the thing is, Helena is not in love with Lysander so she is saying to him start respecting me, and stop making fun of me and teasing me. But as Hermia wakes up she is wondering where Lysander is. You also see all the fairies in the background as little lights keeping an eye on the situation. Most of the scenes in the play are in the forest and the cover displays a very dark and gloomy forest, with a grey sky because the fairies are to busy to control the weather. One thing I would like to change about the cover is to put one of the male lovers running away into the forest chasing after Helena. I like the way the forest is painted because it is very enticing and entrancing to look at because of how natural the trees look. I also like how there are so many fairies surrounding the lover but she is sound asleep as if nothing is going to happen. Those are just a few reasons why I like this cover.

MSND blog no. 1

The book that I am comparing 'A Midsummer Night's Dream': by William Shakespeare to is 'The Lightning Thief': By Rick Riordan. The book has a few things that are really similar to my life, for example the really close relationship between Percy and his mom. My mom and I are really close, and we do a lot of things together. The book also talks about the way Percy also has a really stubborn mind like me, except for the fact I am not as stubborn as not as stubborn as Percy. The way I am stubborn is I won't give way to basic problems until I solve the thing/ situation I am trying to solve, just like Percy goes on the mission to find Zeus' missing master lightning bolt. There is many thins that I can't connect to; for example the way he's brave and never ends an actual fight (with weapons). I can't and I won't fight with someone that involves making them mauled, wounded, and umbrageously hurt. I also can' stand weapons because I could not stand to see anyone hurt or even killed by an unrighteous, unworthy, malevolent weapon..

Literacy Blog (Spring Break) Post

During my spring break, I am going to Brandon, Manitoba, and participating in the Brandon Winter Fair. I went last year with a couple of family member, including my grandma, and my brother, and  we absolutely loved it, because of all the excitement with all the races, events and displays, including the super dogs from President's Choice, that were happening! I saw a lot of racing and horses and I loved it (I bought $16 worth of Lemonade, and that's all I bought, besides a small key-chain!); and so I wanted to go back the Brandon Winter Fair this year because I had enjoyed going there and seeing traditional country holiday fun, and participating in it as well. I am also going shopping and doing a lot of driving, but I relax, not drive! During the Summer Holidays, I spend most of my time in the Parkland Region of Manitoba, so I'm used to being around horses and listening to Country music. (I prefer Country music genre over rock music genre, just sayin'!). I am most looking forward to spending time with my family and friends, because I have been so busy this year, I have not been able to connect with and just hang out with my family and friends, and just relaxing and enjoying myself, while having fun and just making the most out of my time here on this planet.

The photo I have chosen portrays barrel racing, which represents Brandon well because it is a very cowboy like town with so much stuff to do in it, including shopping, many restaurants, carnivals,and a lot of scenery. The Brandon Winter Fair has many activities that involve horses. One of these activities, Barrel Racing, is probably one of the most fun activity at the Brandon Winter Fair to go and see, because it is very fast paced, and the crowd gets rowdy when the horse beats the time of the previous horse. The race is usually over in about twelve to fifteen seconds.In Barrel Racing, the horse has to go around three barrels before the running down the middle to stop the timer. Horse racing is one of the hundreds of activities that see at the Brandon Winter Fair, including hackney, when the horses run, trot, gallop, walk, and do other different patterns around the stage. The Stage looks exactly as it does here in this photo, with wood shavings on the ground, and situated on a hockey rink. The BWF is usually jammed packed to the roof as it is portrayed in this picture.

Literacy Blog #3

 What I have found interesting in my novel is the way that the author uses the different characters to help illustrate what the book is about.  Mitali Perkins, the author, has created two sections of the book to describe the different views of the two sides of the Burmese Civil War. Chiko, also know as "Teacher", is one of two main characters in "Bamboo People". Chiko is from the Aboriginal side of the war and is abducted into the Burmese military by Captain Win-Min, one of the leaders of the Burmese Military. Tu-Reh, the other main character, is a young street boy from Yangon.  Tu-Reh is from the city, where the government is trying to commit genocide against the Aboriginals; however, Tu-Reh is completely oblivious to the war, until he finds Chiko lying in the forest with a leg that has been destroyed. Tu-Reh brings Chiko to the Healer's hut in order to help Chiko. I find this interesting because eventhough Tu-Reh is a non-aboriginal boy, he still wants to help others on the other side of the war. Tu-Reh is a character I find that Mitali Perkins, portrays as a charachter of Good Samaritian ethics as he helps Chiko from dying even though they are on opposite sides of the struggle.  I think the reason why I like this book is because of the psychological ways the book attracts you into reading it. I also like the way Perkins uses very descriptive words and paints a picture visually in your mind. In all I find that the book is very good because of its psychological non-arbitrary ways to pull you into the book.

Text to Self Connection

 The novel that I am going to connect to is called 'Bamboo People' by Mitali Perkins. At least three times in my life I have felt great fear, distress, and grief. Just as Chiko, one of the two main characters did. When Chiko had arrived at the location where the job posting for the teacher, the military came out and opened fired and gathered everyone who came to the job posting, controlling Chiko like a savage. When I was about four years old, I had gotten lost in a giant store ('Walmart'). Even though it does not seem that big now, it was huge when I was four. I was wandering down an isle, trying to fnd my parents, when a big hefty guy, dressed all in black, starting walking down the isle. I started to feel so scared, and I was already upset that I could not find my parents, that I started to bawl. But finally I found my parents walking down the main isle, and I scared them by grabbing onto the buggy. I was so happy when I found them, that I started to smile and forget the grief and terror that I had just faced.

Literacy Blog no. 1

 1.The book that I currently just finished reading is called Bamboo People by Mitali Perkins. The book is seperated into two different stories about two young boys involved in the Burmese war. In the first section, a boy named Chiko, whose father had been taken away from his family a couple months before, is taken away by a false advertisement towards a teaching job (as he is really smart.....). The two different genders were seperated into two groups.The boys stayed and the girls were sent home as they thought they were not that strong. Chiko is taken on a rickety old bus to a camp where the soldiers taken would spend their military days. Chikois a very wise person and teaches a boy named Tai how to read. One day Tai is chosen to do a job for the military; however, Chiko did not want Tai to be killed so Chiko volunteer . The second part of the book is about a boy named Tu Reh, who is an innocent boy. Tu Reh finds a lamed body lying on a thick jungle path.  In the book, Tu Reh is really close to his "Peh", or his father. Tu Reh finds a soldier with a missing limb and steals his weapons. Everyone else thought that the soilder was a spy, but not Tu Reh, who thinks he is just a lost sole, who needs medical attention. The boy soilder is only about fifteen, so Tu Reh decides that he will take him to the Healer's hut. While Tu Reh was carring the boy soilder to the Healer's hut, he senses grave danger ahead!
2. In 'Bamboo People', there are 2 protagonists. Chiko, who is very small for his age. He has yellow, cleanish skin, dark hair, brow eyes, and is very skinny. He is nicknamed 'Teacher' and is studying with his fathers textbooks (his father is a doctor). Chiko also studies calculus, english and many different subjects dealing with medicine. Chiko is a very benevolent, patient, and kind person who would give up his life for anyone loyal to him. The actor that I would have portray Chiko is Christian Bale because he is very much like Chiko. I feel the Christian Bale has a similar personality and charactristics as Chiko and would portray Chiko as I see this character vividly through the book.
 
The other main character is Tu Reh. He is a small, dark haired, very fit, person with brownish-greyish eyes. Tu Reh is a very energetic, kind patient, happy go lucky, eager to learn person. He would help anyone, and would even take a jail sentence for anyone. The actor that I would want to portray Tu Reh is Nicholas Tse. I feel that Nicholas Tse would be the best choice as I see him as a strong and stubborn character, just as the book to me has described Tu Reh.
3. "Bamboo People"takes place in Burma, also known as Myanmar. Burma is a very tropical, rainforest region of the world. The time line of the story takes place during the Burmese Civil War. The setting reminds me of my family vacation to Tofino, British Columbia. This is a memory that is evoked during the story as we had an opprotunity to go for a walk through one of the 'rainforests' in Tofino.  The author's descriptive writting of Burma  and area helped me invision and remember this vacation.
